If you want to swear allegiance to an Old God, you can do so in Patch 8.3 of WoW . There is even a reward for killing your friends.
Currently, the Patch 8.3 Visions of N’Zoth is on the PTR and is being actively tested by players. However, data miners and players have noticed a small detail that many fans of the Old Gods will likely appreciate. Those who wish to can join the Old God and kill their friends.
What has been found? An item has been discovered in the game files that apparently starts a quest. This is “N’yleth, Sliver of N’Zoth”. This item can be used to sacrifice 60% of your health and then be transformed into a Shath’Yar, a servant of N’Zoth. In doing so, you will become hostile to all players and can attack them (at least in War Mode).
Where exactly you can obtain this item is still unclear. However, it is presumably in the “Invasions” in the Valley of Eternal Blossoms or Uldum.
Do you already know the “corrupted” rings from Patch 8.3? They have great disadvantages…
What is the reward? In connection with this transformation, there is also a reward. A quest has already been found that is named “Servant of N’Zoth”. This quest requires players of the Alliance:
[Class] … I have watched you … I have felt your bloodlust. But you serve false prophets … the Alliance is an illusion … I am a God! Prove to me that you are worthy of my gift … kill those who will betray you … Kill … the Alliance!
For players of the Horde, the quest text is of course slightly altered.
If someone manages to kill 10 players in a row as Shat’Yar with this quest, they will receive “N’yleth, Sliver of N’Zoth” as a toy, allowing them to use it repeatedly. Additionally, they will earn the title “Servant of N’Zoth” if they want to openly display their allegiance in the world.
What does the Gift of N’Zoth have to do with this? It is currently suspected that only players who have not cleansed their “Gift of N’Zoth” from Patch 8.1.5 will have access to this item. At that time, players received an eye of N’Zoth on their forehead and could decide whether to cleanse it or keep it. It is quite possible that the title and toy will only be available to players who have thus far refused this cleansing.
This is currently just a theory; the necessity of the gift has not yet been confirmed.
What do you think of such an item? Is it cool to pledge yourself to N’Zoth and grab this title? Or will it just be annoying when you are attacked by your own faction?
