A new hotfix has made changes to World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. As a result, 3 new achievements have been added to the game, rewarding you with more Anima.
What’s new? The 3 new achievements in WoW revolve around your Sanctum. You can upgrade it, and for each upgrade, there is now a new reward:
- You will receive an achievement for upgrading all 4 features of the Sanctum (Adventures, Transport Network, Anima Conductor, and the Conservatory) to levels 1, 2, and 3
- Each achievement increases the drops of Anima items from uncommon and rare rewards by 1 additional item
This means, for example, that for a world quest where you used to receive 4 Anima items (a total of 140 Anima), you will now receive 5, 6, or 7 items (up to 245 Anima). This is a significant increase.
In this table, you can see the Anima rewards in dungeons and raids as an example (via WoWHead):
| Activity | Reward | Achievement T1 | Achievement T2 | Achievement T3 |
| Nathria – First Bosses | 105 Anima | 140 Anima | 175 Anima | 210 Anima |
| Nathria – Last 2 | 175 Anima | 210 Anima | 245 Anima | 280 Anima |
| Low Mythic+ | 35 Anima | 70 Anima | 105 Anima | 140 Anima |
| Medium Mythic+ | 70 Anima | 105 Anima | 140 Anima | 175 Anima |
| High Mythic+ | 105 Anima | 140 Anima | 175 Anima | 210 Anima |
These achievements are retroactive. So if you have already upgraded your Sanctum, you will benefit from the change immediately.
Is this change account-wide? No, the achievements apply only to a single character. Those who frequently use twinks will need to upgrade their Sanctum with their alternate characters to benefit from the new rewards.
When does the change go live? It has been active since the night of April 13th.
WoW increases Anima for the third time
What is the impact of this change? With this change, you will get more rewards in content such as world quests, rare mobs, raids, or Mythic+. There should also be additional Anima for PvP, which, according to WoWHead, is currently not active.
However, there will not be a major change, as the rewards have been increased uniformly across all areas.
What is Anima actually used for? Anima is largely an optional resource. It is used in small quantities for a weekly quest and for upgrading the Covenant sets.
Additionally, you can secure many cosmetic rewards with it and theoretically recharge your adventurers at the adventure table. However, you should avoid this to not waste your Anima unnecessarily.

These adjustments to Anima have already occurred:
- Already in February, the amount of Anima from dungeons and raids was increased.
- With patch 9.0.5 there was also a buff for earning Anima. Since then, you can easily secure 500 Anima once a week.
Blizzard has been adjusting Anima for some time to make it more accessible to players.
The next big update, patch 9.1, is still awaited. It’s also surprising that some players are already uninterested in the update. You can find out why here: Some WoW players mock the upcoming patch 9.1, showing no interest.
