In the latest patch of World of Warcraft, there is a new way to get powerful loot. The problem: your group can ruin it for you.
The best loot in World of Warcraft. Basically, everyone wants it. But to get it, you must either run mythic raids or play a lot of “Mythic+” to obtain such an item from the weekly reward chest. However, with the new Season 3, there is another way to obtain such items. Tazavesh plays a major role in this – and perfect play without a single mistake.
How can you get the fancy loot? In Season 3 of The War Within, the dungeon “Tazavesh” is also back in the rotation. But these are not just the mythic keystone dungeons; there is also the “norm mythic” Tazavesh with the hard mode activated. This raises the difficulty of Tazavesh to roughly that of a “Mythic+10” and grants all characters an additional buff: “Streetwise”.
This buff indicates that you have not died yet this week in Tazavesh on hard mode.
The catch: Only if the entire group still has the buff at the end of the dungeon on hard mode will there be an item with mythic quality from the final loot chest – the best possible item you can currently obtain (1/6 Mythos). This item can then be upgraded to the current maximum.
There is no second chance for the week. If you die, that chance is gone. Resetting the dungeon does not help either.
Please note that this information was still from the PTR. If there were last-minute changes, Blizzard did not document them.
What is the criticism of this? The biggest criticism of this system is that you can only partially be responsible for whether you get a chance at an item with mythic quality. After all, there are five different people in a group, and no matter who dies – the bonus chance is then lost. In a time when “random groups” are already battling toxic behavior, it is likely to cause a lot of frustration if a group member makes a mistake that causes everyone to lose the chance at the good loot.
This is how the community discusses it: Especially on community sites, such as on wowhead, the topic is heatedly discussed. Many believe that this method of loot distribution will make groups even more toxic than many already perceive. Some of the comments:
- “Oh man, this is fantastic. I can only imagine the rage in chat when someone dies.” – portalpimp
- “This will obviously cause absolutely no drama.” – Corpselance
- “This is already toxic by design. Stop deliberately introducing stumbling blocks for players.” – Ratlanta
However, it must also be said that Tazavesh in “hard mode” is probably intended for well-rehearsed groups of friends and acquaintances. Because the bosses in this dungeon require significantly faster communication that is hard to achieve only via chat.
Even though this will cause frustration – other content is really fun again: like the Shadow Priest.
