Soon the housing in World of Warcraft will start. But even now you can prepare and unlock a lot of furniture in advance.
One of the big new features of the next expansion of World of Warcraft is player housing. However, not all the furniture, decorations, and furnishings come from the Midnight expansion, but largely from old game content. Blizzard wants you to honor your journey of the last 20 years – thus, it is advisable to check out all the old content already.
What is the idea behind it? Blizzard wants the housing to feel like it has always been a part of World of Warcraft. Therefore, they want to integrate almost all old game content into the housing system and tie a variety of furniture and decorations to old areas and reputation factions.
An example: If you want decorations in the style of Mecha-Gnomes, you will likely find them on Mechagon, an area from Battle for Azeroth. Since a lot of trading with spare parts took place on the island, furniture will also be made or bought with spare parts.
No ultra-rare drops in raids: However, there is one thing the developers want to avoid. Anyone who has been farming the mount “Invincible” from the Lich King for many years should not suddenly find out that they now have to defeat the Lich King repeatedly to also receive the rare sofa from him.
For this reason, rewards from raids are either relatively common drops or tied to achievements. This provides a clear condition that you can work towards without depending on luck.
What are housing rewards for? The basic idea seems to be “everything”. So achievements, reputation factions, crafting, quests. For this reason, you can start completing the old reputation factions now if you haven’t done that yet. Many of the old factions can be completed much faster today, and you also unlock some transmog templates or mounts. So if you currently have some free time, dive into the old content.
