On Tuesday night, WotLK Classic started in World of Warcraft and to my surprise, leveling has been pleasantly improved. Suddenly, gifts piled up in my inventory that are really useful.
What is it about? In WoW Classic, on September 27, the Wrath of the Lich King addon launched. This release already happened in “Retail WoW” back in 2008 and now Classic players get to experience it all over again. However, with changes. The LFG tool, as you remember it from before, is gone and during leveling, Blizzard made a few adjustments that are really good.
New Gifts “Northrend Adventure Supplies” – What’s inside?
What kind of gifts are these? I hadn’t read much about the contents of WotLK Classic before the release and wanted to be surprised. And I must say, the surprise was successful. When I completed the first quest lines in Howling Fjord, I noticed the gifts in my inventory.
Of course, I had to unpack one and check what was in the “Northrend Adventure Supplies,” as Blizzard calls the packages. The contents of the packages are always somewhat similar and include a selection of potions and elixirs, scrolls for different stats, as well as food and drink to regenerate health and mana.
Why are the gifts in leveling so good?
This is the result: After a short leveling period, you have a lot of potions, food, and elixirs at your disposal. In the Winterhoof village, my third stop in Howling Fjord, I already had a stack of health and mana potions together. Additionally, food to regenerate between pulls and enough elixirs that give me a lasting boost while leveling.
In short: The time to regenerate and to buy food and drink is minimized because of the new packages. I can now survive fights with large mob groups more safely thanks to the many healing potions.
Without the gifts, healing potions and elixirs are scarce. That’s why you had to think carefully about how to handle the valuable items or visit a friendly alchemist (or the auction house) who sells you potions.
An added benefit is that the remaining potions that do not fit your class can easily be sold in the auction house. Or even better: You trade them with other players from the guild or the general chat to get something useful in return for both sides.
My conclusion: Thanks to the Northrend adventure packages, leveling has become much better for me. I can use my time much more effectively and have to visit vendors less often. This feature is a welcome help for me and many players in the general chat celebrate it as well.
Moreover, I am already looking forward to my first dungeons as a healer. Because Blizzard promises tanks and healers bonus loot in dungeons – and there might even be mounts involved.
