The Diablo Event in World of Warcraft is live. There are many rewards that you can earn now – including a big mount.
For many Blizzard fans, the time is coming soon, as Diablo IV will finally be released. In the usual Blizzard fashion, the release of a new game is also celebrated in other games – such as in World of Warcraft.
What do you have to do at the event? Kill. Specifically, the treasure goblins that can appear in the game’s capitals or on the Dragon Isles. The arrival of the treasure goblins will be shown on the map about 5 minutes in advance. At the corresponding location, a portal spawns, which is also equipped with a timer.
Once the timer has expired, a treasure goblin spawns with a lot of health points – you should already have some heroes gathered there. The treasure goblin itself runs around in a panic, throwing gold and bombs everywhere. While the gold gives you a buff, you should avoid the bombs – too many of them will quickly blow out your life lights.
Where and when do the treasure goblins spawn?
Update: The times indicated below seem to be outdated. Currently, a portal spawns every 5 minutes – as soon as a treasure goblin is defeated, the next one appears.
The treasure goblins have fixed timers and regularly alternate when and where they appear. A treasure goblin appears every 30 minutes.
- At even hours: Stormwind (2:00 AM, 4:00 AM, 6:00 AM etc.)
- At odd hours: Orgrimmar (1:00 AM, 3:00 AM, 5:00 AM etc.)
- Every half hour: Somewhere on the Dragon Isles (0:30 AM, 1:30 AM, 2:30 AM etc.)
When a treasure goblin spawns, it first happens through a portal. You then have 5 minutes to get to the portal before the goblin itself is attackable.
However, there may also be spawns that do not occur at fixed times – keep your eyes peeled.
Note that you can only see the portals on the world map when you are in the corresponding area! If you are looking for the treasure goblins on the Dragon Isles, you should briefly fly through all areas and see where the portal symbol appears. Nice players also make announcements about this in the trade channel of Valdrakken.
What rewards are there? A whole lot. If you venture out to kill the treasure goblins, you will be overwhelmed with many rewards. Most of them are not only cool but also quite useful. Because the treasure goblin has different loot. Among them, there are even some really sought-after classics, like the mount “Tyrael’s Charger”!

- Baa’lial soulstone (pet)
- Ensemble: Hood and Cloak of Enmity (transmog set)
- Nightmare banner (toy)
- Treasure-snatching bag (toy)
- Tyrael’s Charger (mount)
- Wirt’s fighting leg (transmog – shield hand)
- Wirt’s cursed leg (transmog – two-handed mace)
- Wirt’s last leg (transmog – one-handed mace)
- Horadric bread bag (36-slot bag)
- Cowhoof righteous cleaver (polearm)
- Book of town portals (toy)
- Twelve-string guitar (toy)
Additionally, there are various amulets and lucky charms that increase your stats for the duration of the event – simply because you have them in your inventory.
Those who want to grab the rewards should therefore quickly set out to hunt the treasure goblins. The event is only active until June 13, 2023 – and it is uncertain whether the rewards will return after that. If so, it will probably be at the release of Diablo V – whenever that will be.
