A serious bug in World of Warcraft has left many characters naked – and mounts have also been “stolen” from them.
Update 11:40 AM: The bug seems to be fixed. Transmogs are available again for many players, and mounts can also be selected correctly again.
Original report: The trading post of World of Warcraft is a popular feature – at least until a few hours ago. Because a bug now means that players have lost their beloved rewards. They have apparently simply been removed from the game and are no longer usable.
What kind of bug is this? An obvious bug has led to all rewards from the trading post in February disappearing. And not just “disappeared” in the sense of “no longer available” – but actually removed from the game data or re-encrypted. Those who previously had a pink cape or the pirate set as a transmog suddenly find themselves naked and can run through the air.
WoW: Trading post rewards are gone, causing bugs
Even more absurd is the case with the mount “Ash’adar, Herald of the Dawn.” The mount still appears as an entry in the characters’ collections but has no model anymore. So you can “mount” the flying mount – but no mount appears.
The result: You can run 100% faster without a mount or run “through the air” at 310%. It looks highly ridiculous, but it’s also quite funny:
If you have a lot of absurd encounters with nudists and apparent “exploiters with speed hacks” in WoW today – save yourself a ticket. It’s just a bug.
Are the rewards gone forever? That is unlikely. Typically, unlocks are stored in the account data. It should just take a small bug fix from Blizzard to decrypt the items again. After that, you should be able to get your beloved transmog and mount back.
As soon as there is a statement from Blizzard or the bug has been fixed, we will update this article.
