The followers in World of Warcraft are becoming more valuable. We reveal what new abilities they gain in Patch 8.1.
Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance is coming soon to the live servers of World of Warcraft. In addition to the major highlights, such as the new raid “Battle of Dazar’Alor”, the incursions, and new island expeditions, there are also many little things that are being improved and changed.
Followers reach new level: The various followers of the war campaign can collect another 30,000 experience points with Patch 8.1. After that, they will be upgraded from the current maximum level (epic) to legendary.
What does a legendary follower bring? Legendary followers receive a second equipment slot. They can therefore be equipped with another bonus. Most bonus equipment can be crafted by professions. They ensure that the player receives additional resources upon completing a mission, such as ores, herbs, or fish.
The respective engineer follower of both factions receives a different ability at “Legendary” level: It reduces the duration of the mission by 50%, which should have a positive effect, especially for the long missions.
Reactions so far rather negative: The voices from the community regarding this change are rather negative so far. Many find the adjustment unnecessary and have no interest in filling a second equipment slot for the followers. Numerous players say that they haven’t even used the first slot yet because the corresponding items are far too expensive and not worthwhile.
