A new artifact cloak becomes mandatory in Patch 11.2 of World of Warcraft. But it does more than just look good.
Blizzard has extensively talked about the upcoming Patch 11.2 Ghosts of K’aresh and presented its main features. In addition to a raid boss as large as the city of Stormwind, there is also special equipment for all characters. The cloak “Reshii Wraps” will become a mandatory item. Because it is not only powerful, but also grants you new abilities.
What can the cloak do? The perhaps most important ability of the cloak is that it can dissolve your character into pure energy. Gameplay-wise, you enter another phase where energy beings primarily reside. This way, you can experience the remnants of the planet K’aresh in a “different dimension”. This also provides new gameplay, as in the energy variant you can see things that would likely remain hidden from you in a physical body.
This energy existence also brings other advantages. For example, in the upcoming raid, you can travel through energy tubes of the Mana Forge, which would likely end fatally in physical form.

What effects does the cloak have? In addition to the gameplay aspects in the game world, the cloak also has additional effects that are triggered in combat. What effect that is mainly depends on your role. In summary, that is:
- Tank: Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant you a shield that absorbs 20% of the damage taken, up to a maximum value. If you fall below 40% health, this effect is triggered with 500% potency, but a maximum of once every 6 minutes.
- Healer: Your helpful spells and abilities have a chance to additionally heal a wounded allied target. If this results in overhealing, it will be converted into a shield for 20 seconds.
- Damage: Your spells and abilities have a chance to deal arcane damage, which is split between the target and all enemies in the vicinity. The effect is 20% stronger if the enemy is below 35% of their health points.
Special loot can enhance the cloak: In addition, there will be loot in the new raid “Mana Forge Omega” that can further enhance your cloak when you wear it. Thus, all characters can get shoes that increase the triggering probability of the cloak by 50%.
Furthermore, the final boss Dimensius can drop a ring that further enhances your cloak. With the ring “Band of the Shattered Soul”, you will regularly take 50% reduced cosmic damage (up to a maximum value). Cosmic damage has so far been rather rare in the game, but will likely occur more frequently in the Mana Forge Omega.
Dimensius is, after all, a quite interesting boss, not just because of the loot. He is also the largest boss that Blizzard has ever created. With his size, he even overshadows entire cities like Stormwind, making the fight unusual.
