WoW Dragonflight delivers a ton of new mounts again. One of them is a flying fox with bat wings. You can get it quite easily, although the mount is a bit hidden.
What kind of mount is this? The Temperamental Skyclaw looks a bit like a fox or a large Vulpera, equipped with a saddle and able to fly. Its fur is orange with white patterns, a bushy tail, and pointy ears, just like a fox.

How do I get the Skyclaw? Basically, you just need to deliver a few items. You can get the Skyclaw from Stablemaster Zon’Wogi at the Tri-Falle lookout in the northwest of the Azure Mountains. When you talk to him, he will tell you what he wants:
- 20x Frostbitten Meat
- 20x Gnolan’s House Specialty
- 20x Tuskarr Dorr Meat
You can easily get all the items at the auction house, even before you head to the mountains to “buy” the mount directly. None of it is soulbound. If you want to save money, just farm the items in the regions.
All items are dropped by Gnolls and you can find them according to wowhead in the following areas of the Azure Mountains:
- Camp in Nowhere
- Azure Archives at the camp by the lake (Twilight Gnolls)
- Brackenfell Cave in the Inn
- The addon HandyNotes helps you find the items – so you can also find dragon glyphs faster
It is not quite clear if you need prerequisites to be able to loot the items yourself. Some players report that they get everything easily. Others say that they had to complete the quests “True Survivors” or “Hit the Gnoll” first.
New mount that does not work in Dragonflight
The Skyclaw serves as a regular flying mount and cannot be used for dragon riding on the Dragon Isles. You can only ride it on the ground there; to fly, you’ll have to go to the areas of the old world.
For many players, dragon riding is so good, that they don’t even want to use normal flying mounts anymore. They hope that soon all flying mounts will use the momentum system or that dragon riding will permanently replace normal flying.

In the community, it has almost unanimously been decided that dragon riding is already the best feature of Dragonflight, even though many players are struggling with it. Nevertheless, the system seems to be exciting.
