Ultramar
Actually, Ultramar is not a planet but a quasi-autonomous realm within the borders of the empire. Its main world is Macragge, home of the Ultramarines.
The Ultramarines are among the first chapters of the Space Marines and are known for their immense loyalty to the Emperor. They are credited with the fact that the empire did not shatter after the so-called Horus Heresy – a major civil war among Space Marines. You can read more about it in our History of the Imperium from Warhammer 40,000.
With its 500 worlds, Ultramar is tiny compared to the rest of the empire. However, it is particularly progressive and prosperous. Life there is so “good” for many that the average life expectancy of a human was in the mid-30s for a time – quite a considerable figure for Warhammer 40,000.
