The action RPG Torchlight 3 gets a housing feature. But instead of a simple house, you will build a whole fort.
Where do you live in Torchlight 3? In online games, it is often possible to build a house and furnish it according to your own preferences. In Torchlight 3, which was originally announced as Torchlight Frontiers, you also get a home.
However, you live in the fantasy world in a large fort. You are also allowed to expand and decorate it as you like.
Become the lord of your own fort
How do you get the fort? Nearby, a tribe of goblins has settled. Right where you would like to live. So, you pay them a visit and make it clear with sword and magic that this area now belongs to you. Now you own the fort and can use it as a base.
What can you do in the fort? You enjoy a lot of freedom when it comes to expansion and decoration. It is possible, for example, to create a beautiful garden or to place a monument of the greatest hero: you.
You can create new decorative objects and place them anywhere you want. You can also find decorative items during your adventures.
What does the home bring? The housing in Torchlight 3 – which belongs to the 9 hack ‘n slays we expect for 2020 – is basically cosmetic in nature. You gain hardly any advantages when you seize the fort from the goblins and settle there. The feature is meant for you to unleash your creativity in decoration. However, you can, for example, place an enchanting station or a luck tree in the fort that provides some buffs.
Additionally, it is possible to show your fort to other players. Although Torchlight 3 is no longer an MMO, you can still play together with others. This allows you to invite teammates to your fort and also visit the structures of others.
What else does the fort bring? Your home counts for the entire account and not just for one character. All your heroes can participate in the expansion, live there, and use the enchanting station to upgrade items.
When is Torchlight 3 coming out? The action RPG, which has developed from an MMO into a classic sequel of the hack-and-slash series, is set to be released on Steam this summer. The developers have not yet mentioned a specific date.
