Setting: Fantasy | Developer: Trion Worlds/Gamigo | Platforms: PC | Release: March 1, 2011 | Website: RIFT Website
What kind of game is this? Rift is a fairly classic MMORPG that is inspired by Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. Here, quests and story take center stage. The world of Telara is threatened by beings from another dimension that appear through rifts. You set out to close these rifts and save the world from invasion.
In addition, there is still a war between two opposing factions. You join one and experience many adventures with friends. If you encounter players from the opposing faction, PvP battles also occur.
How many classes are there? Rift offers 51 classes, with 5 base classes that are divided into several advanced roles. Each class can essentially play any role.
Why are there so many classes? In Rift, there are so-called souls that determine the base class, which then splits into subclasses – but not every base class has the same number of subclasses. Not all of these subclasses are available for free in the game. Some must be purchased.
You create your roles from soul combinations. Through these combinations, 51 classes emerge, all with different properties. A paragon, for example, is a warrior who deals melee damage, while a looter is a warrior who deals ranged damage. A riftblade is also a warrior, but one who deals melee and elemental damage.
This way, the individual classes offer their unique characteristics.
