Some NPCs in World of Warcraft are really annoying. At least one of them can be silenced in the future – permanently, if necessary.
If you haven’t accepted an important story quest in World of Warcraft, there are often loud dialogues indicating that. But if it’s a quest you’ve already completed on one character, you might not want to do it again on another character – and will then be confronted repeatedly with annoying remarks.
In the next patch, you will finally be able to give one of these NPCs a hint to keep quiet.
Which character are we talking about? We’re talking about Danath Trollbane. Whenever you approach the mission table in Dornogal, where you can accept weekly quests, he starts his monologue and says:
“I understand your frustration, Geya’rah. But do not rush to conclusions.”
What is interesting the first time and a friendly reminder the second time that you haven’t accepted the corresponding quest, gets annoying by the third repetition. However, since Danath never stops and there are also the 20th, 50th, and 700th repetitions, some players eventually develop a furrowed brow and wish they could just tell Danath: Shut up.
This is possible – at least in patch 11.2.7, which starts on December 2, 2025.
How can you silence him? By simply talking to him. In patch 11.2.7, Danath Trollbane has a new option where you can just say to him: “We are all frustrated, Danath. You don’t have to say that all the time.”
He will then show understanding and keep quiet for now, allowing you to stroll through Dornogal much more relaxed and not having to turn off the sound anymore.
Even before you silence Danath Trollbane, there are all sorts of other things to experience. Because the beta of Midnight starts in just a few days and everyone can secure a guaranteed spot in it – at least if they’re willing to shell out some cash. But with a bit of luck, you might get a sneak peek at Midnight beforehand.
