A first trailer for “Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet” has now been shown. The new TV series on Apple TV Plus focuses on the development of the greatest multiplayer game of all time. The biggest problem of the MMORPG seems to be the studio head.
Six months ago, Mythic Quest was first introduced at E3 2019. During the Ubisoft presentation, a short trailer for a comedy series suddenly appeared: it follows the development of a fictional fantasy MMORPG.
Now it’s clearer what the series is about.
Sid Meier left so Ian Grimm could run
That’s the idea of the series: Mythic Quest is the biggest multiplayer video game of all time in this world, and the studio is now planning to release the first expansion with “Raven’s Banquet”.
The main role in the series and in the development of the MMORPG is taken by Ian Grimm: he seems to be the creative head, studio head, and somehow the main character of the MMORPG.
He seems to consider himself a gift from God to humanity, and everyone in the studio is there to realize his brilliant visions. Among his famous quotes is, “Sid Meier left so Ian Grimm could run.”
The humor of the series apparently includes Grimm’s blatant narcissism, who occasionally roars from the loins of a barbarian, as well as the gender struggle.
Who is involved in the series? The creative minds behind the project are known from the TV series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. But Gérard Guillemot from Ubisoft is also among the producers.
Among the actors:
- Rob McElhenney, the boss, known from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”)
- F. Murray Abraham (Oscar winner and recognized great actor)
- Danny Pudi (known as Abed from Community)
- Ashley Burch (very popular in the gamer community, voice actor for Life is Strange)
When does it come out? The series premieres on February 7 on Apple TV Plus.
