The new raid from Destiny 2, “Edge of Salvation”, has been completed by the first players. Many Guardians tried their luck, but one class was hardly played.
What kind of raid is this?
- On June 7, 2024, “Edge of Salvation” launched, which is the new raid from Destiny 2 that has been added to the loot shooter with The Final Shape.
- With The Final Shape, Destiny 2 concludes the saga of Light and Darkness. Accordingly, “Edge of Salvation” is very important for the story.
- The big final boss of the raid is none other than the Witness.
- Thousands of Guardians fought for almost 19 hours to be the first to defeat the Witness and complete the raid. In the end, a team won the “World-First” race that no one knew.

Hunters dominate, Titans are ignored
Which class was hardly played? The Titan. The Reddit user “selpix_” looked at every team from the top 50 on the website Raid Report and documented which classes they played. Then he calculated how often each class was represented.
In the “Top 50”, these are the first 50 teams that defeated the Witness and successfully completed the raid “Edge of Salvation”. However, he notes in the comments under the post that some teams were displayed multiple times on the “Raid Report” page, so it is rather the Top 48.

How often was each class played? According to selpix’s calculations, 74% of all players in the Top 48 who completed the raid played a Hunter. In second place is the Warlock with a pickrate of 25%. The Titan was used by only 1% of players.
Overall, according to selpix, there were only 3 players in the Top 48 who finished the raid with a Titan. One of them is the American YouTuber and streamer Aztecross, who is very well-known in the Destiny 2 community.
New Exo Sniper leads Hunters to glory
Why was the Titan played so rarely? The Titan simply lost in direct comparison to the Hunter. Many players are convinced that the Titan lacks a strong super that can deal damage at long distances in boss fights like against the Witness (via Reddit).
Furthermore, the Hunter can deal significant damage during damage phases with the new exotic sniper rifle “Endless Hunt”, as the “Golden Gun Sniper” synergizes with the helmet “Heavenly Night Hawk”.
The Titan, on the other hand, not only lost out as a damage dealer but also as a healer. The Warlock continued to be brought along as a healer, which is why many teams played a combination of five Hunters and one Warlock. The Titan was left on the bench.
