CipSoft, the developers of the MMORPG classic Tibia, have launched the alpha of their new game Litebringer. Players can even earn money.
What is Litebringer? The fantasy online RPG essentially looks like a browser game. You create a hero from the classes Knight, Rogue, and Sorcerer and experience adventures in a large world. Over time, you improve the hero and become more powerful. For example, you can switch to special subclasses. It is important to adjust and upgrade your equipment before a mission so that you have a good chance against the monsters. All this is experienced in 2D graphics. The actions in the game take place in turns.
This sounds relatively familiar. But Litebringer has a special feature.
Earn money while playing
What is special about the game? Litebringer is based on the so-called blockchain. Blockchains are used in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and represent a constantly expandable list of records, also called “blocks”, which are linked together using cryptographic methods. Every transaction can be traced.
Litebringer is also based on a blockchain and cryptocurrency. LiteCoin is used, an alternative to Bitcoin. Every move you make in the game is essentially a transaction in the LiteCoin blockchain. Whether you improve your hero, complete a quest, defeat bosses, or collect loot, all of this increases the value of the currency.
You can earn money by selling your equipment, which has real value. You will then receive LiteCoin, which you can exchange for real money, thus generating income through playing Litebringer. Transactions are secure due to the blockchain. Over time, you should not only own an extremely valuable character but also earn real money – similar to the MMORPG Ember Sword.
