The new Hearthstone adventure starts today. A total of 35 new cards are available, which can also be used in other modes.
Today, on January 21, 2020, a new adventure starts in Hearthstone. The solo adventure “Galakrond’s Awakening” concludes the story of Ü.B.E.L. and the Explorer’s League and also serves as the finale of the Awakening of Dragons. There will be a major showdown in Northrend. This will be celebrated with new cards that players can earn. A total of 35 new cards can be played.
How do you get the new cards? To obtain the new Hearthstone cards, you must purchase the expansion Galakrond’s Awakening and defeat the corresponding bosses. So it’s a rather classic adventure that offers additional card rewards.
You can buy the adventure for real money (€20) or with gold, costing 700 gold per chapter – so a total of 2,800 gold.
Galakrond’s Awakening brings 35 cards over 4 weeks
How will the cards be released? As usual, the adventure will not be released all at once, but in a total of 4 chapters, which will be unlocked weekly. All 35 cards can thus be played over the course of 4 weeks. The release dates for the chapters are as follows:
- Chapter 1 – January 21
- Chapter 2 – January 28
- Chapter 3 – February 4
- Chapter 4 – February 11
The release of the first chapter will thus take place today. Presumably in the evening hours between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM German time.
This time, a free chapter is only partially available – the “Ü.B.E.L.” part of chapter 1 is free, while the other half must be purchased. However, there are 3 bonus cards to lure you in.
What cards are included in the adventure? Blizzard has already previewed some of the new cards, which you can consider here.
Particularly exciting is the Chaos Seer. This curses an opponent’s card. The opponent must play this card in their next turn or discard it at the end of their turn. This could ruin some strategies. But the new hero card for mages (Reno) is also interesting, as it will clear some fields.
For Hearthstone players, four exciting weeks are approaching, during which the meta will likely be in constant flux. So if you want to experiment with new cards, you should dive into the adventure today.
Will you be playing Galakrond’s Awakening? Or have you set Hearthstone aside for now?
