The new fantasy MMS Soulframe has its own idea of how you create your character: You create Mom and Dad before the game starts. The developers recently showed this at TennoCon. The game is supposed to have an overall soft and poetically hopeful feeling.
This is how Soulframe begins: The developers from Digital Extremes have shown the beginning of Soulframe, their new MMO.
You follow a bird that flies through the night into a castle room where a mother is holding her infant. Ethereal music and singing can be heard, while the child makes baby noises, tenderly resting in its mother’s arms.
Now menus appear where you can customize the mother. The narrator comments on the player’s decisions. You can adjust: the mother’s skin color, her hairstyle, her hair color, and her eyes. Once these four settings are made, the mother places the child in a wicker basket and the adventure begins.
You should be able to create your father and mother
This is the idea: So far, we only see the character creation of the mother, but it is planned that players will also be able to create the father in Soulframe.
It apparently follows that the appearance of your own character, which you play, is derived from this. However, we do not yet know the entire process of character creation.
What do we know about the game? The friendly tone we see at the beginning of the gameplay likely represents the overall impression of the game. This comes from an interview with community manager Sarah Asselin (via sportskeeda).
She repeatedly emphasizes that Soulframe is about healing a world and that nature and memory are returning to a world from which this poetry has been taken.
The game is supposed to be significantly more hopeful and friendly to players compared to games like “Dark Souls”.
We have already reported on the annoyance that “Soulframe” sounds so much like Dark Souls on MeinMMO. The studio states that they struggle with the name. They hope people focus more on the “Frame” in the name rather than the Soul: The new MMO from the creators of Warframe struggles with the name “Soulframe” because it sounds like “Dark Souls”
