Voltaire: The Vegan Vampire is a new co-op game on Steam. You play alone or with a friend and take on the role of Dracula’s son. Since he doesn’t want to drink blood, he defies his father and lives vegan on a farm.
The co-op game was released on February 27, 2023, in Early Access on Steam. It is being developed by the indie studio Digitality Games. So far, Voltaire: The Vegan Vampire is only available for PC. On Steam, you can get it for €14.99.
Grow vegetables that you defend at night
What kind of game is it? Voltaire: The Vegan Vampire is a humorous co-op farming game with roguelike elements.
Voltaire is the son of Dracula, who decides that he does not want to drink blood. You play the rebellious young vampire who wants to eat vegan and runs away from Dracula to live on a farm.
There you will then grow plants during the day to feed yourself. After all, you don’t want to drink blood. You can expand Voltaire’s own farm and conquer different biomes that the vampire uses to his advantage.
At night, Dracula then unleashes his army upon you, and you must defend your farm. For the battle, you learn skills that you continuously improve to become stronger.
Visually and in terms of gameplay, the game is reminiscent of Don’t Starve (Together), Stardew Valley and Sun Haven, but brings fresh air to the genre due to its theme.

You can also play co-op in split screen
How does the co-op mode work? You can also play the farming roguelite together with a friend, who then takes on the role of a female vampire alongside Voltaire. This works either if you are sitting together at the PC, or via Remote Play from Steam.
One of you must own the game and can invite the other without having to buy the game a second time.
In split screen, you can then work together on the farm or protect it at night.
