Players can take a first look at the upcoming changes to the racial bonuses on the PTS of The Elder Scrolls Online. Especially the changes to the Khajiit are a topic of discussion among players.
Khajiit can almost become invisible: On the Private Test Server of The Elder Scrolls Online, players can test the announced changes to the racial bonuses. Players have noticed the significantly improved stealth ability of the Khajiit.
Together with the right equipment, Khajiit can stand right in front of enemies without being detected. The player Kingflares on Reddit posted a picture where he stands right in front of a guard with over 9,000 bounty and is not seen. He even has the opportunity to pickpocket the guard. By the way, with the upcoming Elsweyr update, Khajiit will also receive their own zone.
This is how you become a ninja: With the upcoming Update 21, all races in The Elder Scrolls Online will undergo a major overhaul. The update aims to ensure that the individual races clearly distinguish themselves from each other while still providing approximately equal strength bonuses.
Due to the update, Khajiit will be much better at sneaking. The radius in which they can be detected by NPCs and other players is reduced by five meters.
In combination with two special armor sets and another passive ability, Khajiit are almost invisible.
- If they wear seven pieces of medium armor, their detection radius is reduced by 35%.
- Three pieces of the “Nightblade” set reduce the detection radius by an additional 2 meters.
- Five pieces of the “Mother of Night’s Embrace” set further improve your sneaking ability by reducing the detection radius by 2 meters.
- The passive ability “Veil of Shadows” reduces the detection radius by 10% when it comes to NPCs.
Bosmer are better at sneaking in lore
Bosmer have gained the ability to better reveal cloaked enemies through the update. In return, they lose their bonus to their stealth. However, in the eyes of some players, the passive abilities should be distributed the other way around.
Khajiit should be better at detecting cloaked enemies. After all, they have the eye of a cat. Bosmer, on the other hand, are known in the Elder Scrolls lore for the Rite of Theft.
What is the Rite of Theft? Bosmer have made a national sport out of stealing items from other Bosmer. However, they do not keep the item. Instead, they bring it back to its owner in exchange for a blessing corresponding to the stolen good.
However, other players argue that this is merely a custom. Bosmer would never refer to themselves as thieves, whereas Khajiit are known for their quick and sometimes cunning nature.
That is why these players argue that Khajiit should retain their current bonuses.
