On December 8th, Season 4 starts in The Division 2. Along with new content, you can expect a reunion with a former companion. But now you must hunt her down mercilessly.
What is Faye Lau’s story? At the end of Warlords of New York, former Division Commander Faye Lau switched sides and joined the Black Tusk. Not much is known about her reasons – at least not yet. These are apparently to be explored in the upcoming Season 4.
Because together with four other rogue Division agents, she has now formed her own cell and pursues her own goals, which we are to discover and thwart in the new season. Lau’s return was already announced some time ago with the roadmap for 2020.
This is what the new Season 4 in The Division 2 also brings: With Title Update 12, which kicks off the new season on December 8th, there will be various improvements and balancing adjustments as well as, among other things, the optimization station as a new endgame feature and new exotics and gear sets. In general, you can expect new weapons and equipment, a new skill variant, events, challenges, and a new season pass.
The Story of Faye Lau
What makes Faye Lau special? Faye Lau is probably known to some veterans who have played the first part of The Division. Lau was an agent there, guiding you through the snowy streets of Manhattan with missions and instructions. With the release of Warlords of New York in The Division 2, Lau appeared again. This time as the commander of the Division in New York. However, at the end, she went rogue and unexpectedly turned away from the Division.
Why Faye Lau turned away from the Division: During the story, players learn that Lau lost her sister in an attack by the Rikers on Hell’s Kitchen. In utter despair, she began drinking heavily and tried to forget her anger and grief through alcohol.
The Division’s handling of the villain Aaron Keener made her increasingly doubt the Division’s abilities. At the end of the “Warlords of New York” campaign, Lau’s Strategic Homeland Division watch turns red. So, the former commander and companion turned into a rogue. And it seems that she has joined the Black Tusk, a powerful private security company.
Faye Lau’s motivations are still unknown: It can only be speculated why Faye Lau has become rogue and joined the Black Tusk. However, with the start of Season 4, we will likely learn more about her motivations.
Due to her strong doubts about the Division, it is conceivable that she wants to maintain order in New York in her own way with the Black Tusk. After the devastating hurricane and the pandemic, this would be quite a plausible scenario.
The hunt for Faye Lau: While hunting Faye Lau, players will learn more about the background of her betrayal, but you will not be able to fight her immediately. First, her team of four equally rogue Division agents must be taken down.
They work with Lau in a cell of the Black Tusk and must be hunted down and eliminated gradually throughout the season. Who the four rogue agents are is still unknown at this time. It is only known that in the end you will reunite with your old boss. By then, you should learn with what motivation Lau defected. Because after eliminating the four agents from Lau’s cell, you will finally face Lau herself in the final battle.
Will there be a happy ending? Whether you can convince Faye Lau to rejoin the Division or whether you must eliminate her in the end is unclear. Her strong doubts about the organization led her to defect to the enemy. But perhaps through your determined actions, it is possible to persuade Lau to return. Perhaps there will still be a nice happy ending.
Whether Faye Lau will also appear in The Division 2: Special Event “Codename Nightmare” is also not known. The event was supposed to take place this year but has been postponed to the second half of Season 4. It is possible that Faye Lau will make an appearance here.
