EA has now explained how the BR mode “Firestorm” will operate with new details about player counts, maps, and features.
Team play is important in Firestorm – No Solo Battle Royale
Battle Royale comes from a different team: The Firestorm mode is not developed by DICE themselves, but by Criterion Games. It will be released after the launch of Battlefield 5. However, you should find the familiar charm of Battlefield in Firestorm.
Which Battlefield elements are in Firestorm? Team play is also important in the BR mode. You know it from other BF titles, where you capture objectives together with your team. Solo plays often lead to failure.
Powerful vehicles and massive destruction are also present as the play area gradually shrinks.
Player counts – Fighting in Squads
How many play Battle Royale in BF V? Contrary to the typical 100-player battle royale, BF5 has its own rules. In Battlefield 5, 64 players battle in the battle royale.
How are the players divided? Fights occur in squads of up to 4 players. There is room for 16 teams.
Tanks in the Battle Royale
Vehicles are well-known from large BR games like PUBG or Fortnite. Here, Battlefield 5 really turns it up and introduces heavy machinery.
What are the tanks for? With these powerful vehicles, you can easily wipe out entire squads hiding at strategic points on the map.
Are there additional vehicles? Yes. On the Firestorm map, you will find additional vehicles that can accommodate multiple people. This allows you to quickly drive from A to B to capture important objectives.
Objectives are back, bringing you gear
Battlefield fans know that objectives are one of the key elements of the conquest mode in the series. They are also used in Firestorm. To ensure everyone plays the objectives, the developers make them particularly important.
Why should you play objectives in Firestorm? If you play the objectives, you will be rewarded with the most valuable equipment and thus have a higher chance of winning.
Are all objectives the same? No. Some are at fixed locations, while others appear randomly. There you will find weapons or vehicles.
Destruction of the map
Just like objectives, map destruction is a typical feature of Battlefield. You will not miss this in Firestorm.
Why should you destroy the map? Some buildings provide good cover and give defenders of a location advantages. If you blow up the cover with the tank, you create tactical advantages for yourself.
