The second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds is on the horizon. This time, there’s also a monster that fans already know from previous installments. And it’s not just cunning; it will annoy you on purpose this time.
Which monster is it? In the second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, in addition to the content from the first beta, you can also hunt down two more beasts. One of them is an old acquaintance from the predecessors: the cheeky Gypceros.
Gypceros was already part of the first Monster Hunter and has since appeared in 9 more titles. It is also making its return in Monster Hunter Wilds. Fans of the series are alarmed and are already swearing not to fall for it again.

The Cheekiest of the Cheeky
What is Gypceros known for? Gypceros is a particularly treacherous monster that loves to annoy its hunters. It has a sort of rubbery skin that protects it from thunder damage and allows blunt damage to bounce off. Its tail tip is hard and thick, making it a great club to use. Its tail is also flexible, allowing it to extend and use it like a whip.
Gypceros also likes to pretend to leave the area while flying, only to turn back halfway and return. If it is heavily injured, it plays dead to deceive its hunters. When they start to approach it or even try to carve pieces from it, it launches a powerful surprise attack.
However, its most annoying ability is due to its head crest. It can clap it against its beak, creating sparks that can blind its hunters. This temporarily incapacitates them. Once its victims are stunned, it can poison them with its beak.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, Gypceros even mocks you with a new move before it beats you with its whip club. The monster blinds you first, then twerks in front of you to celebrate itself. The video with the new animations has been received well by fans. You can watch it via x.com.

How is this received by the community? There are already some threads on Reddit (via Reddit) about fans already gearing up to be mocked by Gypceros again. Particularly, the new animation is garnering attention as it reflects the character and mechanics of the monster very well. For fans, it is definitely one of the cheekiest and funniest monsters in the series and has already led to all kinds of memes in its history.
