In the co-op shooter Remnant: From the Ashes, the bosses are one of the highlights. Players must analyze the attacks of the enemies, find their weak points, and ideally dodge in time. However, when facing a boss, not even the best cover can help.
This is the boss in question: In the co-op shooter Remnant: From the Ashes, which was released on August 20, there are currently 20 bosses, each more different than the last. Each one requires a unique strategy of dodging, attacking, and taking cover.
However, one of these bosses has no interest in “cover”: The Unclean One, which you can encounter in the world of Corsus in The Shack. The clip, posted by player Kossuranta on the Remnant Reddit, now shows how quickly the fight against the colossus can end.
The player had already reduced the boss’s health by more than half and wanted to take cover behind a wall against the smaller enemies. Out of nowhere, the weapon of The Unclean One, a large hammer, crashed through the wall and critically hit Kossuranta’s character.
The wall behind which the player had taken cover even splintered. Even though Kossuranta still had nearly full health, the hammer attack knocked him to the ground.
If you haven’t encountered The Unclean One in your playthrough, an upcoming update might help. Soon an adventure mode for Remnant is set to be released, allowing players to select activities more easily.
Remnant: From the Ashes Boss – What You Should Note About The Unclean One
These are the attacks: The Unclean One has several attacks you should watch out for. One of the attacks can even be beneficial for you.
- Weapon Leap: The Unclean One jumps from a distance into the air and strikes at you with his weapon. Wait until he is almost landed and dodge forward. If you land behind the boss, you can hit his backside, which is one of his weak points.
- Belly Strike: The boss jumps at you with his large belly. Here you can only try to dodge to the sides.
- Tree Hit Combo: The boss strikes three times with his weapon. Be careful, this attack has a huge range. Try to dodge his blows and attack his head (another weak point) when he finishes the combo.
- Weapon Whirlwind: The Unclean One swings his hammer in a circle and can destroy objects in his surroundings. It’s best to run away from him and strike when he finishes his attack. You can also lure him into enemies who will likewise be hit by his attack.
- Weapon Throw: As seen in the video, the boss throws his hammer, even through walls and objects. Dodge this attack and strike him when he tries to retrieve his hammer.

Some users have also provided useful tips for the fight against The Unclean One. Consumables like Adrenaline and Damage Dust are said to simplify the battle. If you are good at dodging, you should rely on damage debuffs that deal passive damage to the boss. This way, you can dodge the entire time and only attack The Unclean One a few times, while the DoTs do the rest.
