A strange “curse” causes chaos in Red Dead Redemption 2. Spontaneously, your horses catch fire, taking their riders with them.
We have already shown that the wildlife in Red Dead Redemption 2 can be a bit out of control at times. But besides aggressive deer that charge at you from miles away, there is also a much worse fate that can befall horses. Occasionally, they spontaneously burst into flames!
An example is provided by the Nasty Old Wizard on Twitter. Horse lovers might not want to watch this:
Where does the “curse” appear? At a certain point in the game, you and your gang approach the town of Rhodes to seize opportunities.
As long as this is the case, you cannot use weapons near the town, and as soon as you approach, you receive a warning to behave in the town. Apparently, this warning is responsible for the spontaneous self-ignition of the horses, as it is present in all known cases.
No horse, no fire: Anyone who wants to avoid the “curse” and play it safe should preferably go wandering without their horse or pay close attention. Although a burning horse with a rider certainly fits wonderfully for Halloween – but not quite for Red Dead Redemption 2.
A “curse” is also what some players do with a feminist in Saint Denis.
No curse, but a bug: Apparently, this spontaneous self-ignition is a bug, as there is otherwise no identifiable source for the fire. One cannot truly speak of a real curse, although it certainly makes the incident a bit spookier.
