After a player demonstrated it, many others are now following suit and carrying soup bowls across the prairie of Red Dead Online, the online mode of Red Dead Redemption 2.
What’s behind it? A group of about 20 players from Red Dead Online has made it their mission to run from a camp in the southwest of the map across the entire landscape to the east coast with a soup bowl in hand, without losing the bowl or getting harmed.
A Journey with a Soup Bowl in Hand
What is the challenge? Players grab a bowl of stew at the campfire and then set off. The challenge is to reach a specific destination safely while holding the bowl.
Player RJskillz92 demonstrated it and others want to try out this new “game within the game” as well.
Where lies the difficulty? While you carry the soup, you really can’t do anything other than run. Moving with the stew across the map means you have to pay close attention. For along the way, you’ll encounter wild animals, bandits, and crossing the train tracks at a slow pace is anything but easy.
Additionally, the server was acting up a bit. Some players were kicked and when they could log back in, their stew bowl was gone.
A Fun Challenge
What happened along the way? The challenge offers many funny moments: As players ran with the soup bowl across the landscape, there were frequent accidents. Crazy horses rampaged and knocked players down, trains rushed over some of the cowboys at crossings, and other players tried to sabotage the challenge.
Along the way, many players lost their soup bowls, which meant that new stew had to be cooked at a camp. Some, however, didn’t want to wait that long and grabbed other items to continue carrying. These included fish and corpses.
You can watch in the video above what happened on the journey.
Did the group reach their goal? Yes. Eventually, the cowboys arrived on the east coast and celebrated their achievement exuberantly.
The community also celebrates this event and is excited about how creative some players are and what ideas they come up with.
