In the Legends series, hunting Shinys is easier than in the main editions. The reason for this is a very special sound that also appears in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
What is this feature? As CentroLeaks revealed on X, there will be a special sound in Pokémon Legends: Z-A when a Shiny Pokémon appears nearby. This feature does not exist in the main series so far, but it has always been present in the Legends series.
Shiny Pokémon are particularly rare creatures that have a different color scheme than the original. Each Pokémon has a Shiny variant. For many trainers, these rare specimens are particularly interesting for their collection, which is why so-called Shiny hunters keep an eye out for Shinys.
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, there is also a special Shiny symbol for the rare Pokémon when you have one in the storage.
Shiny hunting made easier with a simple sound
What are the benefits? As soon as the sound is heard, trainers know that a Shiny Pokémon is nearby. They do not have to search the area for hours to catch one. Additionally, the chance of accidentally killing a Shiny is lower this way.
Due to the action-based combat system, this can happen faster than in the main games, where there is a turn-based combat system. Since Shinys spawn rarely, it is very annoying and tragic if you accidentally kill one.
The special icon also makes it easier to identify the special creatures among all the others.
Especially convenient is that the captured Pokémon from Legends: Z-A can be transferred to Pokémon HOME, a universal storage for all captured Pokémon across various games. This way, the Shiny creatures can also be transferred to future games. Pokémon GO also uses this platform.
