In Pokémon GO the GO Tour: Unova is approaching. The event now has another exciting Pokémon added: The black and white Kyurem are finally making their official appearance.
When is the event? The global Pokémon GO Tour 2025 takes place on March 1st and 2nd. On both days, the event starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 6:00 PM.
The official debut of the black and white versions of Kyurem is now added to the known content. This has not existed in Pokémon GO before – well, at least not nearly.
Kyurem Black and White in 2023: While the regular Kyurem has been available in Pokémon GO for a long time, trainers are still waiting for the official release of the more powerful black and white forms of the legendary Pokémon. Kyurem achieves this when fused with Reshiram or Zekrom.
But in 2023, the two actually appeared briefly in the game: The legendary Pokémon was accidentally released at that time by being given as a reward in the battle league to a few trainers. Shortly thereafter, the Pokémon was completely removed from the game.
Since then, the two have been sought in vain again. But for the GO Tour, the monster finally appears officially. We will show you what makes the special Kyurem versions unique.
All information about the debut of black and white Kyurem in Pokémon GO
When does the new Kyurem appear? The two new variants will appear at the local GO Tour events as well as at the global event. The latter is likely to be the relevant date for most players.
How do the black and white Kyurem appear? They debut in 5-star raids. However, after defeating them, you will receive the regular Kyurem. You can then fuse this with Reshiram or Zekrom.
How does the fusion work? The fusion requires 1,000 fusion energy (Volt for Black, Flame for White), 30 Kyurem candies, and 30 candies of the fused Pokémon – either Reshiram or Zekrom.
You receive the fusion energy by defeating the black or white Kyurem in raids. Overall, the whole process works similarly to the Necrozma fusion.
Special moves for Kyurem: Your fused Kyurem learns a special move – but only if the Kyurem you use already knows “Ice Time. This is something you need to keep in mind.

- The white Kyurem learns “Frost Breath”
Detailed information about the moves, such as values or possible adventure effects, is not yet known. Whether they will receive such a special effect remains to be seen. Overall, the event has added an exciting Pokémon with Kyurem. However, it will take some time until that happens.
