In Pokémon GO, it is currently worth using the camera function. We will show you why and how to do it.
What’s happening in Pokémon GO? In Pokémon GO, the “Horizonte event” is currently ongoing. It revolves around the series of the same name, which shows how the trainers Liko and Roy explore the Paldea region. Also, the Pokémon Knarbon is making its first appearance.
One of the bonuses of this event revolves around “snapshot surprises.” In the photos you take of your monsters, characters from the series may appear. You can see what this can look like in the title image.
The special thing: they bring direct Pokémon spawns that can be worthwhile for you. And that’s why you should not ignore this feature right now.
Which Pokémon can appear in the snapshot?
How many snapshots can I take? You can currently get five snapshot surprises per day. You cannot influence which surprise you will receive.
Which Pokémon appear? At the moment, five Pokémon can appear through the snapshots: Felori, Krokel, Kwaks, Glurak, and the Pikachu with the captain’s hat.
The last two are particularly interesting. Normally, you don’t get a Glurak that easily, and if you use a Sananabeere while catching, you can earn a whole 20 candies for that Pokémon. An extremely easy way to collect many candies and possibly get strong Glurak specimens. Additionally, you have the chance to obtain it as Shiny if you’re lucky.
The Captain Pikachu is also interesting, as you usually have to search for it in the wild or challenge it in raids. Here you have a good opportunity to catch the event Pokémon. Moreover, some trainers currently suspect that there is a Shiny boost for the Captain Pikachu (via reddit), as many trainers report shiny encounters – but this has not yet been confirmed.
How do you take a snapshot? To take a snapshot, you simply need to click on your buddy Pokémon. There, click on “Play” and then on the camera icon at the bottom. This way, you take a photo of your buddy and can receive the snapshot surprise.
If you then exit the screen, you will find the corresponding spawns directly in your vicinity.
The Horizonte event runs until March 11, 2024, so you still have a few days to secure your snapshot encounters. With 5 snapshots a day, you can gather quite a few monsters. And if you want to know what else is happening in the game: Here you will find all events in Pokémon GO in March 2024.
