In Pokémon GO a new feature has been activated: the capture cards. How you can use them, we will show you here.
What’s happening in Pokémon GO? In Pokémon GO, today, on December 6, 2022, the new event “Mysterious Blade” launches. The event brings new monsters, changes the spawns, and some bonuses are now active.
In addition, a new feature has been activated in Pokémon GO: The new “capture cards” are now available.
How to use capture cards in Pokémon GO
What is a capture card? You can display your monsters in the form of a “capture card,” which shows various things:
- The Pokémon
- A background that matches the type
- The CP of the monster
- The way you caught it – such as Raid, surprise encounter, or similar
- The catch date and location
- The ball used
The monster appears as you find it in your collection. Best friends have the corresponding badge, and shiny or costume variants are displayed accordingly.
In addition, you have the option to replace the “standard” image with an AR snapshot. It could look something like this:
What does the capture card bring? The capture card is purely a social feature. You can post the card on social media or send it to your friends when you want to share your latest catches. It is likely thought of similarly to the overview at the end of the adventure smoke.
Currently, they are not collected in-game, like postcards.
How do I use the capture card? If you have just caught a Pokémon or click on it in the collection, you just need to click on the menu at the bottom right (the three lines where the rating and sending options are).
There you will now find the new option “capture card,” between the candy conversion and the tags.
Restriction: As of now, the feature is only possible with monsters that you have actually caught. Pokémon hatched from eggs or those you have received through trades cannot currently be immortalized as a capture card.
What do you think of the new feature? Can you make something of it, or is the capture card not for you? Tell us in the comments!
Otherwise, details about the Community Day in December 2022 have just been announced in Pokémon GO.
