New special researches come repeatedly at irregular intervals in Pokémon GO. In these, you have to complete various tasks to receive some special rewards as well as mystical Pokémon. However, accomplishing these tasks can take several years in the worst case.

Normal Event with Great Help
Which event is it? Since Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the Total Normal event in Pokémon GO is active. It runs until Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 8:00 PM. Various Normal-type Pokémon are in focus.
Which special research does the event help? In August 2019, a special research titled ‘A Thousand-Year Sleep’ was unlocked in the game. At the end of this special research, the mysterious Pokémon Jirachi from Generation 3 awaits you.
