Kariyushi Shirt Pikachu from Okinawa – Even as Shiny
What’s new now: For a whole year, special Pikachu wearing a Kariyushi shirt will appear in Okinawa. Corasonn will also spawn in some regions of Japan, including Okinawa.
If you are lucky, you might find and catch these event Pokémon in their Shiny form. On reddit and Twitter, players are already showing their new catches and confirming that the new stylish Pikachu are indeed in the game:

- “I have no problem with regional Pokémon. But regional Pokémon that only appear for a certain period annoy me. Japan is currently still not open for international tourism.”
Other users mention that the event will be active for a whole year, giving them a long time to travel to Okinawa. However, two more events will start in May in Okinawa. There, you can catch Pikachu floating with balloons and also participate in a ticketed event. But those will only be active for a few days.
Others suggest that the special Pokémon from such events could be made accessible to other players. “It’s a shame they don’t hatch from 7km eggs. I have a friend in Okinawa who sends 1-2 gifts per week,” writes Basara549 on reddit. “That would be such a great solution,” writes Cavirra. “It would promote friendships and everything that’s one of their [Niantic’s] goals.”
