After a somewhat quiet few weeks for Team GO Rocket, they are returning to the Rocket event “A Long Shadow Returns” with a bang. Finally, you can look forward to the return of Giovanni.

Giovanni: After several weeks of absence, Giovanni finally returns to Pokémon GO. He will now be using a new legendary Shadow Pokémon: Shadow Lugia. In recent days, there has been much speculation in the community about Giovanni’s return.
The reason for this was the discovery of a new Shadow Pokémon. Many players had wished for Lugia from the game series “Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness” for the Nintendo GameCube. However, Giovanni is returning with the normal, white version of Lugia.
Additionally, his mission will also revolve around the mysterious Pokémon Hoopa. It has already been confirmed by Niantic that there will be a second special research involving Hoopa. However, it remains to be seen whether Giovanni will also play a role in this.

A new Shiny
Not only have the Shadow Pokémon of the Rocket bosses changed, but starting tomorrow, you will also encounter a new Shiny in the game. This is the Dark and Flying Pokémon Skallyk.
You can currently find this in the field research breakthrough for the month of November. According to Niantic, it will also be available in field research tasks starting tomorrow. With a bit of luck, you might encounter a shiny version of this bird-like Pokémon. You can recognize it by its pink head and brown plumage.
