In Pokémon GO, Shiny Spinda seems to simply not appear anymore. Trainers suspect there is a bug behind it, as Shinies have disappeared before.
Reports indicate: Currently, on reddit, trainers are looking for confirmation of Shiny Spinda. So far, no trainer has caught the rare Shiny recently. It seems to have simply vanished.
This is not an isolated case. Shinies often go missing, and after Niantic fixes a bug, they reappear.
Is Shiny Spinda gone? What trainers report
Here the topic is addressed: The user “btriffels” has started a thread on reddit, stating that Shiny Spinda is currently unavailable. Furthermore, he mentions that the current form is the wrong one.
He points out that on a large Discord server, where all Shinies are usually posted regularly, there haven’t been any reports of Shiny Spinda for a long time.
The whole situation began with the launch of the new field research in April. There, the form of Spinda changed from #6 to #8. However, a Spinda #8 has not yet been reported as Shiny.
Additionally, this could cause problems with the form. Spinda #6 was only available in March, while the other forms were previously available for 2 months. Especially now during the coronavirus crisis, where one spins few PokéStops, it is even harder to acquire each Spinda form. Spinda can only be obtained from field research and is also very rare.
So is Shiny Spinda currently unavailable? One can assume so. The mentioned Discord server is huge and players from all over the world share their catches there. If there hasn’t been a post about a shiny Spinda in the past 20 days, then the probability is low that the Shiny exists currently. Furthermore, every other Shiny that is available was shared there in the last few days.
There have been similar cases: Spinda is not the first Shiny to have disappeared. It all started with Shiny Magnemite and Drifloon. Both were not findable for several days. After Niantic was made aware of this bug, the Shinies reappeared.
In October 2019, Paras suddenly disappeared. The Pokémon did not appear at all for several days. Here, the bug was fixed after Niantic was alerted.
It is quite possible that soon one can find Shiny Spinda again. After all, Niantic will certainly be informed about the bug due to the reddit thread.
