In Pokémon GO, a Rocket event starts on January 24 and the second part of the Power Plant event will accompany it. We will show you what will change in the game.
What are these events? Currently, the Power Plant event is running in Pokémon GO, which, among other things, released Eguana into the game. Niantic divided the event into two parts, which differ in content. Starting January 24, you will find different raid bosses and will be able to forget the charged attack Frustration during the Rocket event.

Rocket Event in January 2022 – What’s inside?
When does it start? The Rocket event “A Sinister Premonition” starts on January 24 at midnight. The event runs until January 30, 2022, at 10:00 AM (local time).
What bonuses are there? Niantic announced the following bonuses in advance:
- You will find Team GO Rocket at stops more often
- Balloons from Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently in the game
- You can use Charged TMs to make Shadow Pokémon forget the charged attack Frustration
What else could come? Niantic announced more content in the blog post with the sentence “and it gets even more intense…” An error by the developers may have spoiled the surprise. On the morning of January 23, trainers reported that they suddenly could catch new Shadow Pokémon. Even Arlo, Sierra, and Cliff had new attackers that you could catch after the battle.

Power Plant Event Part 2 – What changes?
When does it start? On January 24 at 10:00 AM local time. The changes will remain in the game until February 1 at 10:00 AM.
What changes? The second part of the event affects the raids.
- Level 3 raids will start with Jugong, Keifel, Panpyro, and Shardrago*
- Level 5 raids will start with Regice*
- Regice that you catch during the event will know the move Thunder
Especially the Rocket event is content that many players are looking forward to. Because the move Frustration is typically known by all Shadow Pokémon. However, it is not good. You can only forget it at special events. It is worth sorting your Shadows for the event and teaching the right moveset to strong specimens.
