Patch 9.1.5 brings some nice details for players of World of Warcraft that they have been waiting for: more character customization.
Patch 9.1.5 of World of Warcraft is not yet available on the PTR, but Blizzard has already shared a bit about the content. Especially fans of character customization will get their money’s worth, as Blizzard is adding some improvements for the neglected races. Specifically, there will be more options for Nightborne and Lightforged Draenei.
Why these two races? Nightborne and Lightforged Draenei are both races with extremely few customization options, which was already criticized at the release of these allied races. When Blizzard announced in February at BlizzConline, that there would be no new character customization for the time being, the outcry was great. The developers seem to have taken this to heart and want to bring more of the following options for Nightborne and Lightforged Draenei:
- Hairstyles
- Hair colors
- Beards
- Skin colors
- Accessories
- Horns
- Tail length
- Tattoos
- Others
But other races can also look forward to small things, such as options to adjust ear size for Void Elves – here it seems that they will simply adopt the possibilities of Blood Elves.
What else does the patch bring? But the patch brings more adjustments, which will particularly please Druids and players of the Night Fae covenant. Druids are supposed to receive “new travel forms,” while Night Fae will get a whole new option for their soul shape. They will now be able to choose a “tiny creature form,” such as a squirrel or other small creatures of the Ardenweald. However, this transformation can only be used in rest areas because it is so small and cute.
Additionally, there will be an option to have a random one of the unlocked forms chosen upon transforming into the soul shape. So you no longer have to decide on a single form in the Heart of the Forest.
Last but not least, the patch will also bring new toys. However, no details have been provided yet, and they will come only when the patch is playable on the PTR – that should be the case in the coming days.
What comes next? Also for the future, Blizzard wants to deviate from the plan of not bringing any new customizations. Accordingly, there will still be more new options in the future. According to the developers, after the innovations from Patch 9.1.5, some adjustments for the Highmountain Tauren are on the schedule. However, it seems that several months will pass before we see any first images – as this sounds more like material for Patch 9.2.
