A detail from Patch 8.2 of World of Warcraft should please mount collectors. Because you can teach your mounts new abilities.
What’s it about? Mounts are an important thing in World of Warcraft. They quickly bring players from point A to point B, but few of them have special properties. Especially the Water Striders are popular because they can walk on water as the only mounts. But that will change with Patch 8.2. All mounts will then be able to learn this and more abilities.
How does it work? With Patch 8.2, there is a new equipment slot for your mounts. You can then choose one of several bonuses that will be applied to your mounts. The equipment applies to all your mounts simultaneously, and you can only choose one item at a time. So, if you choose the bonus to walk on water, all your mounts can walk on water until you choose another piece of equipment.

What bonuses are there? In the livestream, Blizzard presented three different items that can be given to mounts yesterday.
- Saddlechute: If you dismount from your mount in the air, an emergency parachute is activated that reduces your fall damage.
- Inflatable Mount Shoes: Your mount can walk on water. Any damage taken will break this effect.
- Comfortable Rider’s Barding: Attacks from enemies will no longer daze you as long as you are riding a mount.
Whether there will be more items is uncertain, but likely. After all, there are many potential effects, even if they are just cosmetic.
Nerf for the Water Strider: At the same time, there will also be a nerf for the Water Strider. It will lose its ability to walk on water. As compensation, all owners of the Water Strider will receive the equipment for free, which allows your mounts to walk on water. Additionally, the price for further purchases of this equipment will be reduced if you own the Water Strider.
Are you looking forward to this adjustment of mounts? Or is it a pity that the Water Striders will lose their unique feature? Let us know in the comments!
