The game director of World of Warcraft has revealed what is included in Patch 8.1 “Tides of Vengeance.” A lot is coming for the players: Two new raids, fresh war fronts, and more.
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth has been live for almost a month, but already the game director, Ion Hazzikostas, has made an appearance on Twitch and revealed much about the next update.
This is happening in the story: Patch 8.1 is titled “Tides of Vengeance” and pushes the war between Horde and Alliance forward.
While the Alliance finally prepares to strike against the Zandalari Empire, the Naga are readying themselves to implement their dark plans.
At the same time, there are new war fronts and even legacy armor for old races!
The main features of the new Patch 8.1
There is a lot of new content waiting for players in Patch 8.1. Here we have a small overview of the things Hazzikostas has already promised:
- The wars campaign will continue
- New feature: Incursions. The so-called “Incursions” are comparable to the Legion invasions from the last addon. Here, however, forces of the Horde and Alliance attack and occupy entire areas.
- New story quests for Saurfang, Tyrande, and Vol’jin
- Legacy armor for blood elves and dwarves – other races will come in later patches
- New war front: Darkshore – The night elves are trying to reclaim their lands from the undead. Then there’s no need to wait so long anymore.
What else is included in the patch:
- Reputation for “Heroes of Azeroth” counts for the account, so you can unlock the bonuses directly for the Heart of Azeroth – our community requested that
- Reputation requirements for transmog items will be removed
These two new raids are brought by WoW Patch 8.1
- New raid: The Siege of Zuldazar
- The Alliance attacks the Zandalari Empire
- The Horde must defend
- Different raid experiences depending on the faction
- A total of 9 bosses
- New raid: Crucible of Storms
- A raid under the Shrine of Storms
- 2 bosses
- comes significantly later, after the Siege of Zuldazar
In the coming days, there will be more detailed information about the individual features. In any case, this looks like a big load of fresh content.
A release date for Patch 8.1 has not yet been announced. However, the patch is supposed to be “played on the PTR by the end of the week.”
