A user from the Enoka server was also banned and posted a corresponding screenshot on reddit:
The user msmithjr1993 also reports on the apparently unjustified bans and calls for Amazon to ban the players who exploit the system:
Just 4 players on my server were mass reported. People are using the reporting system as a weapon, even though the players actually did nothing wrong. They are being kept from the war just because they are on the opposing side of the factions.
Please set an example with them. Ban the players who abuse the reporting system and falsely report other players. […]. Act against this now before it becomes an even bigger problem than it already is.

Overall, we have found reports of at least 30 bans on reddit or in various Discord channels. However, this method currently seems to be primarily taking place on American servers.
Why does this work? Players explain the situation by saying that with mass reports, either an automatic ban occurs or so many reports come in that support cannot check them quickly enough manually.
Therefore, a temporary 24-hour ban occurs.
Some players are also reporting that they were able to play normally again after the 24 hours. Nevertheless, the ban had an impact on the outcome of the war.
Currently, there is still no statement from Amazon regarding these bans.
The wars for territories invite planning and intrigue. One guild leader even decided to rob his guild and switch to the opposing faction with the gold:
New World: Guild leader loses decisevely in war for fortress – robs guild and switches faction
The wars for territories are among the most important and interesting content of New World. However, it seems that nasty tricks are used, especially on American servers, to win them. Many players are reported and banned so that they cannot participate in such a war.
What happens during the wars? As several users on reddit report, just before a war, the strongest players of the opposing faction are mass reported at Amazon.
After that, the reported players initially face a temporary 24-hour ban. This, however, excludes them exactly from participating in the war.
This method is not exactly fair, and correspondingly, there is a big outcry in the community. Meanwhile, New World has just introduced new “Don’t Be a Jerk” rules.
24-hour ban for not doing anything wrong
How do players describe the situation? One of the first threads on reddit came from a user on the Rylynn server on the east coast of the USA. He describes the situation as follows:
If you play on this server, you probably have never seen my name because I almost never post in chat. I was just banned for 24 hours for “disruptive behavior.” And that just before tomorrow’s war of our company.
The incentives and rewards are huge, which is why there is currently mass reporting. There is basically no chance that the tickets will be reviewed before the war, so it can be guaranteed that several enemy players are removed from the war. We have already confirmed 3 bans, all from players at level 60.

Later, he updated his post that the status of the ticket was changed from “disruptive behavior” to “cheating.”
