New World has already encountered a problem with bots shortly after its release. They farm your ores away. A video shows how to quickly and easily make their work useless. The community celebrates this find.
What is the problem? As in many other MMOs, ores that can be mined with pickaxes are also an important resource in New World. And where there are important resources, campers are not far away. So already in New World, there are bots that do nothing but stand in fixed positions waiting for the respawn of ores to mine them immediately.
In a video, a player shows how you can ruin the day and income of the bot operators.
This is how you ruin bots’ day in New World
This is shown in the video: On reddit, user Neuciler shares a clip titled “How to ruin iron bots’ day.” The video has gathered over 244 comments and 3,600 views in just 11 hours. The method is celebrated in the community.
The video starts with the question of whether you are also tired of bots stealing your iron. Then the user shows how to “push” the bots away so they cannot access the iron.
- You lie down in front of the bots on the ground
- Take a small step forward
- and then stand up again
When standing up, the bots are pushed back a bit because characters in New World usually cannot stand inside each other. Without the trick of lying down and standing up, you wouldn’t be able to “push” the bots away.
This way you can simply push the nasty gatherers off cliffs. We embed the video with the method here in the article:
Things to keep in mind: Nevertheless, you should still report the bots in the game so that the team from New World receives reports about them and bans these players.
What does the community say? On reddit the clip is celebrated. Players refer to Neuciler as a legend.
- “Imagine moving them in front of a rock and they then have a full inventory of useless stones,” writes ma2is
- “Damn legend, dude. I have at least three on my server that have not been banned, even though I reported them. They just stand briefly out of range of mobs. This changes everything now!”, says Flystoomuch87
- “Now I know what I will be doing from now on,” writes Woofwoofgoose
- “They should use random spawn points,” demands CrawlerSiegfriend
Does this trick always work? In the comments to the video, Neuciler writes that this method does not work against fishing bots. “For some reason, unit collision is disabled while fishing,” thus characters can stand inside each other while fishing and cannot be pushed away.
But there is an even more exciting solution against this type of bot. Check it out here: Player lets a fishing bot in New World be torn apart by a wild boar.
