MeinMMO ranks the top five romances from Navy CIS over the years by search volume. At rank four, there is a couple whose relationship starts with deception and a lie: Tony DiNozzo and Jeanne Benoit.
Rank 4: Jeanne Benoit and Anthony DiNozzo
This relationship has a slight taint. Tony meets Jeanne in the fourth season of Navy CIS and dates her throughout the season. However, not without ulterior motives: Jeanne Benoit is the daughter of a prominent arms dealer whom NCIS Director Jenny Shepard wants to take down. Tony is to get close to her and thus reach her father.
Jeanne herself falls in love with Tony and for her, the relationship is so real that she actually introduces him to her father one day. After an assassination attempt on the two, Tony ultimately reveals to her who he is and why he wanted to get close to her. The couple subsequently breaks up.
In Season 5, the two have a final showdown
, when Jeanne’s father is found dead and she accuses Tony of murder. With 2,440 search queries, they still hold the fourth place in the rankings after all these years.
