The Battle-Hardened Vaal Hazak has entered the new world in Monster Hunter World! Battle-hardened opponents are even stronger than tempered monsters.
Battle-Hardened Kirin is gone, but strong Vaal Hazak is here now: Two weeks ago, Capcom introduced the battle-hardened monsters in Monster Hunter World with a small update. The first was the Elder Dragon Kirin. The battle-hardened monsters are part of a two-week event rotation. Now it’s the Battle-Hardened Vaal Hazak’s turn.

Vaal Hazak Event Quest: The Lethally Silent Curtain
Date: June 22 – July 5
Main Objective: Kill a Battle-Hardened Vaal Hazak
Requirements: Hunter Rank 50 or higher – Here’s how to level up in Hunter Rank
Defeating the Battle-Hardened Vaal Hazak: 3 x Miasma Decorations are Essential
Especially the Miasma damage is significant: Anyone facing the Battle-Hardened Vaal Hazak should equip 3 x Miasma Decorations. The monster’s roar creates an even stronger Miasma wave that can knock you down. The Miasma beam itself has double the width of the Miasma beam of the normal Vaal Hazak. If you’re having trouble dodging the attacks, you should also consider health recovery.
It’s harder to dodge the Battle-Hardened Vaal Hazak: With the regular or normal tempered Vaal Hazak, it’s a smart strategy to stay close to the monster. However, due to the greater range of its beam, this is much more challenging. If it hits you with it, it deals significant damage, and you’ll have trouble escaping the attack. If in doubt, you should prefer to back off too much rather than too little to heal.
Tip for Ranged Fighters: You now need to shoot a bit more precisely. In its battle-hardened form, the Vaal Hazak is resistant to shots on its body, and you should aim for the head.

Vaal Hazak less scary than “Op-Pony”: Hunters find the Battle-Hardened Kirin more difficult than the Vaal Hazak. This is probably because Kirin has long been regarded as one of the strongest monsters in Monster Hunter World.
The Battle-Hardened Vaal Hazak will remain in Monster Hunter World until July 5. Whether a new battle-hardened monster will arrive directly afterward is still unknown.
