A special event in Hearthstone brings some pretty crazy matches. In the Arena, you now play a mix of two heroes at the same time!
In line with the Halloween season, the Brawl of the Ages returns in Hearthstone. Everything is a bit scarier and crazier than before – at least in the Arena. There you can now experience a crazy game mode where you combine cards from two different classes in one deck.
How does the mode work? After you start an Arena round, you choose your first hero. The first hero determines:
- The appearance and emotes of your hero
- The cards you can choose from
Then you select a second hero, which determines:
- The hero power that your hero will get
- The cards you can select
After that, you select 30 cards as usual; however, in addition to neutral cards, you will also be offered the cards of both heroes. For example, a Warrior might get Mage cards, or a Hunter can throw around Priest cards. Those who have a bit of luck when drawing cards should be able to create really crazy combinations that would never occur in regular play.
By the way: Any active “old” Arena rounds have been canceled. In compensation, you received a free Arena ticket.
A free round: The first visit to the Arena is free, by the way. All players receive an Arena ticket at the start of the Brawl of the Ages. So you can play the first match for free. Further matches then cost, as usual, gold or real money.
Free cauldron: If you don’t want to play in the Arena, you should still log in on occasion. There is a free golden cauldron as a card and also various card chaos modes that will be unlocked throughout the Brawl of the Ages.

You also get more “free” stuff if you watch the BlizzCon – with the virtual ticket.
The event runs until October 31.
Are you having fun with this new Arena mode? And how do you like the Brawl of the Ages? And which combination of classes do you find the strongest?
