What happened? After the update 10.40, the mechs explode shortly after landing. One might think that the robots are causing problems again. However, hints indicate that it is part of Fortnite’s story.
The community has been complaining about the mechs throughout season 10. The robots were too strong, and there was hardly a chance to fight back. However, despite strong protests, for example on Twitter with #RemovetheMechs, Epic Games did not remove the robots from the game. Perhaps because they are part of the story?
Mechs explode as soon as they land
What happens upon landing? Normally, the mechs are distributed across the island shortly after the match begins. They come flying down from the sky and then land on the map. But now it’s different; as soon as the mechs touch the ground, they suddenly explode. On Twitter, ITheEqualizer posted a video about it:
Is this part of Fortnite’s story? Normally, one would think that the mechs are causing problems again. However, there are indications pointing to a continuation of the story.
The scientist, who has now returned as a new version of the Visitor, has many parts of the mechs lying around in his warehouse at Dusty Depot.
Additionally, a virus has been found on the computer at Dusty Depot that likely causes the mechs to explode. Did the scientist implant this virus into the robots to destroy them?
When you approach the computer, you hear a voice. You cannot understand what the voice is saying. Later, you will probably be able to interact with the computer, because when you press to interact now, nothing happens.
