While it was initially said that all players in Fallout 76 are constantly visible on the minimap, Bethesda now explains that there are indeed ways to hide.
And you can hide!
Crouching makes you invisible on the map. When you crouch in the game, it automatically activates the stealth mode. You not only sneak, but also become invisible on the minimap. This allows you not only to hide from other players if you want to avoid PvP, but also to ambush other players who can no longer see you on the map. So far, it sounded like all players were permanently visible on the map.
No Griefing. Even though there are now hiding spots and you can basically be ambushed by PvP players, there is still to be no griefing. The game has a protection mechanism that prevents another player from attacking you repeatedly. It is therefore not possible to keep attacking the same player over and over.
Bases disappear with you
Your base is safe. Even your base, which you build in Fallout 76 together with others, cannot be easily destroyed. Many players feared that the base would become an easy target when the builders log out. You would return to find only ruins. However, that is not how it works. When you log out, your base disappears with you. When you log back in, the buildings reappear. This means a base is not defenseless when you are not in the game.
Bethesda wants to place great importance on fairness. Fallout 76 should, despite Open PvP, never lead to frustration among players.
