Resourceful fans of Fallout 76 have found a hidden treasure that seems to be meant only for animal-loving players. We will show you how to find the loot hideout.
Here’s the deal: On reddit the player “ReasonedTwo” shared his find in Appalachia. A mutated Radstag will lead you to its loot hideout. It seems to be a peaceful resident and not as mean as the NPCs that steal weapons from dead players.
This feature has likely been in the game for a while, as an employee from Bethesda expressed joy that the hidden treasure has finally been found.
Radstag leads you to hidden treasure
Here’s how to get to the loot hideout: If you see a mutated RADstag with the trait “observant,” you shouldn’t just shoot it right away.
The reddit user had followed the stag and suddenly found himself in front of a pile of loot hidden in a tree. Here’s a short video of an encounter with the stag:
Players report finding rare weapons, armor, and more there. The treasure is so well hidden that you probably wouldn’t have found it without the stag.
Is this intentional? In the comments on reddit, some players mentioned that it could have just been a coincidence and that the stag didn’t intentionally lead the player to the hideout.
In response, community manager Ladydevann from Bethesda stated: “This is great. I’ve been waiting for someone to find it. I haven’t discovered it myself yet.”
It was also confirmed that the stag is indeed meant to lead players to this loot hideout.
Is such a hideout an isolated case? Fallout 76 is full of hidden loot caches and you constantly have to solve puzzles to access them. For instance, there is a small treasure hidden in a climbing forest.
However, following this stag is not as easy as it sounds. You still need some skill – or a powerful jetpack to cheat a little.
There are also forest treasure maps in Fallout 76. In total, 10 of these maps lead you to hidden loot locations across the map that you can then excavate. So you should keep an eye out for the hideouts all over Appalachia.
