Place 3: The Institute

Many people in the Wasteland think the Institute is just a rumor. This science-driven organization has its base beneath the surface of Boston and operates from the shadows.
The goal of the Institute is to advance humanity through technology. For this, research is conducted at the highest level in a modern base. Areas such as bioscience, advanced systems, robotics, or synth retention ensure that one always has the latest technology in hand.
Particularly powerful is the Institute not only because of its knowledge. Strong synths, i.e., androids, act as military personnel and defend the underground base in case of an emergency. They can even be teleported to the surface, providing a significant advantage over other factions. Moreover, the synths are often externally indistinguishable from humans, which spreads additional fear.
On the surface, mechanical crows also monitor the events via video surveillance. It would be desirable to make the surface livable again through intensive research. Until then, the powerful and morally questionable Institute continues to bunker itself underground – including the latest technology and a comfortable lifestyle for its members.
