The crown shop of The Elder Scrolls Online has received two new animals. One of them closely resembles the Harry Potter movies.
What’s new in the shop? Zenimax Online offers you two new animals:
- The Ghostly House Cat as an undead pet for 1,000 crowns
- The Dreaded Moose as a mount for 3,000 crowns

creepy animals in ESO
What kind of animals are these? Each of the animals has its own peculiarities:
- The Ghostly House Cat is a being that, according to Nibenese legends, haunts its owner’s house after the owner has been murdered. The cat is sent by Lord Pumpkinface to torment the murderer.
- The Dreaded Moose apparently originates from the spirit world or from Lord Hircine’s realm. It does not disappear in daylight and can therefore be effectively used as a mount. The moose makes ghostly sounds and leaves a mysterious glow while galloping.
What is special about it? When looking at the Dreaded Moose, one gets the impression of having seen it before. Not only does it somewhat resemble the Indrik mount from ESO, but fans of the Harry Potter movies might find the design familiar.
Harry Potter sends greetings
What does the moose remind you of? The ghostly moose looks very similar to the stag that appears when Harry Potter casts the spell “Expecto Patronum” in the films.
The spell is used in the films (and the books) when one wants to protect themselves from threats. The so-called “physical Patronus” helps the wizard to drive away the attackers. This Patronus always takes a form that remains the same for the wizard. For Harry Potter, it is a ghostly stag.
What do players think of the Dreaded Moose? Players are showing a great interest in both animals, but the mount particularly appeals to many. Riding through Tamriel on a ghostly moose has its charm.
However, some find the price a bit too high. At 3,000 crowns, it is one of the most expensive mounts in the game. This is also the case with the cat. Kiyakotari writes in the official forum: “I was so looking forward to the moose and the cat, but now they are both offered at a crazy price.”
