Errors are human, they say – and the production team of the anime of One Piece is no exception. Toei Animation made a funny mistake in Episode 238 that has now caught a fan’s attention. MeinMMO also watched the episode on Crunchyroll and can confirm that the mishap is still present in the anime.
What kind of mistake is it? The error occurs in Episode 238, which first aired on television in July 2005. The victim is chief craftsman Pauly, the master of ship outfitting and mast construction in Water Seven. In one scene, he approaches Luffy to speak to him, but his face does not show what one would expect.
Suddenly, only his beard is present on his face, and his mouth is located above his belt. The mouth continues to speak at his belly, as if it were located on his face. If you want to watch the scene within the episode, you need to fast forward to about 20:28 minutes.

One Piece production team makes a mistake
How can such a thing happen? A user suspects that the mouth was on a different level than Pauly’s body. The production team may have decided to move Pauly a little higher so he would be better in the shot – in the process, his mouth was probably forgotten.
In retrospect, it seems that it was overlooked that the mouth is no longer on the face. However, since this is not too dramatic of a mistake, the production team did not correct it. This way, we can still amuse ourselves with the error today.
What do fans think about it? In the comments, many fans are amused by the mistake. Especially the fact that the mouth is now near Pauly’s “best part” leads to many remarks.
